Birthdays, screenings, and such…

July 6th, 2008 · No Comments

First of all, happy birthday to His Holiness the Dalai Lama (and to my Grandpa!!).

We wish long life to the both of you.

One week ago, Aaron and I threw our first screening and potluck party.  We showed Blossoms in the Lotus Grove, “A work in progress”, to over 30 people in our Brooklyn apartment.  Overall, it was a great success even if we could only display it on a 17″ monitor in our cramped living room.  Viewers like Lama Kunga came all the way from Nepal!  In his honor, we featured a 45 minute portion detailing the goings-on at his monastery, the Pema Ts’al Sakya Monastic Institute in Pokhara.  Many of the attendants learned a great deal about the monks of Pema Ts’al and expressed interest in going to volunteer!

Lama Pema gave great food for thought to accompany our showing and the air all around us was inspiring.  We’re so blessed to have a great support system as we share our Tibetan experiences…

Now, Aaron and I are back in Michigan and plan to wrap up the movie over the coming months.

Tashi Delek and Thug je che to everyone for supporting us along the way!

:) Alison
